July 5th 2011

- Helped my boss finish compiling excel sheet with a list of venture capital firms on the East Coast. I was working on this yesterday but he wanted me to narrow the list down to highlight firms that have gaming or social media companies in their current or past portfolio.
- Got introduced to the excel sheet that is regularly updated with web and marketing stats. Boss wants to show me how to update the file with graphs and charts to get a visual idea of where the US market currently stands in comparison to the German/France markets, which are doing better.
- Re-learned how to navigate the ticket support system, including how to email replies to users, how to mark tickets as "resolved", how to find pre-written replies on the confluence site.
- Began planning for usability testing which will start in 2 weeks. We are currently accepting applications for game testers by posting ads in eBay Classified and the Village Voice. We will be emailing the ones we want to come in sometime this week. Many applicants had incomplete applications so we may need to request for additional information.
- Emailed team a cross-sectional list of user reviews and comments found on the web, with a majority of them coming from reviews on the facebook app. However, I forgot to include information on the sampling size and the average rating for the app, and boss noted that information is pretty useless unless we have more background information. Next time, I will need to include statistics in addition to these comments.
- Learned more in-game dynamics, like how to ban users, how to remove inappropriate pictures, how to access chatlogs, etc.
